The course also teaches you the fundamentals of operating a boat so that you and your passengers have the best time possible boating, while also ensuring that you, your passengers, and other boaters are safe.
What if I’m not a resident of Florida but I want to rent and operate a boat?
As long as you can prove that you’re qualified to operate a boating safely by showing us proof that you’ve completed a boating safety course in another state, you can rent and operate a boat in Florida. Safety is the state’s top concern and as long as you’ve taken and passed a course similar to the state of Florida’s, you’re all set.
I’ve never taken a boating safety course. Does that mean I can’t rent a boat?
